Learn More about Clay:
-
Originally from Minnesota (a fact that becomes painfully obvious whenever he says the word "bag"), Clay moved to Southern California to attend Chapman University, where he earned a degree in screenwriting, won the Dodge College Cecil Award for Best Television Screenplay, and was awarded the David & Lynn Angell Fellowship from Humanitas. Since graduating, he has written multiple festival-finalist comedy pilots, as well as genre feature screenplays that have reached various stages of development. During his time in LA he has worked in film school admissions, as a microcinema manager and programmer, and as a video clerk and trivia host at the world-famous Vidiots, during the good old Santa Monica days. For the last eight years he has been producing and hosting the popular film podcast Screen Drafts, which has been featured on "best podcast" lists from Entertainment Weekly, CBC Radio, and Collider, and boasts recurring guests such as Bryan Cogman (GAME OF THRONES), Emily St. James (YELLOWJACKETS), Liz Hannah (LONG SHOT), Mark Harris (MIKE NICHOLS: A LIFE), and many more. As a Midwesterner, he's terrible at self-promotion and casual networking, but he's great at creative collaboration, and reminiscing about his glory days in high school theatre.
