Learn More about Kayreth:
-
Kayreth Williams is a Jamaican-born writer who grew up in New York, which means that she says “bodega” with authority and has a very strong opinions about beef patties -- no cheese! Kayreth got her start as an editorial assistant at POZ Magazine, where she worked closely with members of the HIV community whose strength, positivity and resilience continue to influence her writing.
After graduating from Hunter College with a degree in English and a minor in Theatre Arts, Kayreth moved to Los Angeles, partly to escape the winter, but mostly to chase her dreams of writing for TV and films. Kayreth eventually became a Staff Writer on Welcome to Flatch (FOX) and hasn't looked back (except when the bagels are bad).
Kayreth is a 2018 Humanitas New Voices winner, a 2024 Rideback Rise Circle member, and a 2025 Women’s List winner.
In her free time, Kayreth writes (always), fosters dogs (occasionally), and scrolls Redfin for homes she absolutely cannot afford (constantly).
