Angelina Jolie to Direct HUMANITAS Winner Eric Roth's Script 'Africa'

eric-roth-mainAngelina Jolie will set her cross hairs on ivory poachers in her next directing project, “Africa.” Skydance Productions, the studio behind the film, announced that it has hired Ms. Jolie, who recently starred in “Maleficent,” to direct a feature film about the paleoanthropologist Richard Leakey’s late 1980s campaign to protect Kenya’s elephant population.

The screenplay is by Eric Roth, who won an adapted screenplay Oscar for “Forrest Gump,” and shared Oscar nominations for “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” “Munich” and “The Insider.”
