HUMANITAS Winner Matt Tarses to Adapt Israeli Comedy for ABC

Matt-Tarses-mainABC has ordered a pilot script of a remake of hit Israeli sitcom So Where Were We?

Matt Tarses, producer of ABC's The Goldbergs, has signed on to adapt the Israeli series for the US.

ABC is big on comedies at the moment, and still riding high on the success of Modern Family, which picked up its fifth Emmy for best comedy series Monday. Finding a comedy companion for Modern Family on Wednesday night is one of the network's primary goals for the coming season.

ABC has experience with adapting Israeli shows. Its primetime singing competition Rising Star is an adaptation of the hit format from Israeli group Keshet.

Tarses will produce So Where Were We? for ABC through his Fanfare Productions shingle together with Sony Pictures Television.
