NBC Orders 'Game of Silence' from HUMANITAS Board of Directors' Carol Mendelsohn and Trustee David Hudgins
NBC has handed over series orders to two new dramas, "The Player," starring Wesley Snipes, and "Game of Silence" from "CSI's" Carol Mendelsohn.
"Game of Silence" has been at the top of the crop through the pilot decision process, though was possibly considered to be too dark for broadcast -- however, the final product turned out so great, NBC ordered the series.
The drama follows a successful Atlanta attorney (played by David Lyons) whose long-lost childhood friends unexpectedly reappear after 25 years. When a dark secret they thought they had buried resurfaces, the brotherhood bands together to right the wrongs of their shared past, a journey that will push the limits of their loyalty and quench their thirst for revenge. Michael Raymond-James, Larenz Tate, Bre Blair, Conor O'Farrell, Deidrie Henry, Demetrius Grosse and Claire Van Der Boom round out the cast. Mendelsohn, writer David Hudgins, Carol Julie Weitz and director Niels Arden Oplev will exec produce the project from Universal TV, Sony Pictures TV and Carol Mendelsohn Productions.
The two new dramas join three previously ordered at NBC: "Blindspot" from Greg Berlanti, medical drama "Heartbreaker" and "Chicago" franchise spinoff, "Chicago Med."
